Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news outlet and a television host author, author and philanthropist. Her move from Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and earned an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the prestigious debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year later, she developed an online voice platform that offered criticisms on the political landscape. The fame of her name helped in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she volunteered for California's recall election, replacing then Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential female media personality, taking the 12th position on their list and in the same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. named her president of their media company in 2011, after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media.
